"Build the wall" – three simple words that defined Donald Trump’s campaign was anything but simple. Along the US / Mexico border nothing is black and white. To build a wall along all 2,000 miles would be an unprecedented feat of engineering, costing an unprecedented amount of money. Traveling by air and by land, investigative reporters embarked on a 2,000-mile journey to dissect the issues of Trump's proposed border wall. Ultimately, the border is not simply about a line, but about the people who live on that line, and this journey is filled with the history, heartache and hope that comes from living on one of America's most controversial stretches of land. The full-length documentary was an outgrowth of the Pulitzer Prize-winning online multimedia project produced by the USA Today Network.

I was the executive producer on a 15-part documentary series for the USA Today Network that ultimately became a full-length documentary. I worked with a team of photographers, cinematographers and reporters from multiple newsrooms to report, shoot and edit these short films. I directed shoots, shot additional footage, reviewed and edited scripts, provided critical creative feedback to story structure and oversaw the final cuts of each of the fifteen films. I also was a lead producer on the full-length film — providing creative feedback and structural support for the entire film production.
